Peter Pan Southaven Theatre reviews
It was worth waiting for and will be remembered among the be
I've been a fan of Peter Pan since the early 70s and have nearly enjoyed everything they've done. Whether with Hacket and Gabriel or the later versions. I caught them in the 90s in a huge indoor concrete area and found the sound and lights memorable. The Last Domino tour in Washington, D.C., which I recently experienced, easily ranks among my top show experiences. The sound was superb, the camera work and lights were well done, keeping me engaged. What a production crew! As musicians, they all did their job superbly, with the humility of real and proven pros. These musicians are not flashy, they let the music speak for itself using their abilities. Yeah, Phil Collins is a bit playful and a star - he's the front person. I give him major kudos for not disguising his disabilities. He is doing his job and not letting his mates - or audience - down. A couple of weaker notes during the first song but rapidly brought the full force of his unique voice solidly and convincingly. Wow! As far as Nic taking the throne from Phil... The kid can play with the best of them. I loved seeing Phil and Chester Thompson on kits in the past, but Nic was solid and energetic. The show supposedly ran for two and a half hours but felt dreadfully too short. It felt like barely 50 minutes, and I wanted to hear so much more. This D.C. Peter Pan Last Domino concert will be one of my all-time favorite live performances, no doubt.
